Terms and Conditions for Mackinac Island Ferry Company
FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Acceptable Use and Liability
MACKINAC ISLAND FERRY COMPANY ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
MACKINAC ISLAND FERRY COMPANY (MIFC) (f/k/a STAR LINE) Acceptable Use Policy is to ensure the responsible use of MIFC’s networks, services, systems, websites, and products by our customers and other users of MIFC products and services, and to enable MIFC to provide Clients with reliable, secure, and efficient services. By using MIFC products and services, Clients agree to be bound by the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy. All tickets once purchased, are non-refundable or changeable.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
MACKINAC ISLAND FERRY COMPANY (MIFC) (f/k/a STAR LINE) is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
PROHIBITED CONTENT
- Not to violate the laws, regulations, ordinances or other such requirements of any applicable Federal, State or local government.
- That may expose MIFC to criminal liability.
- That may adversely affect MIFC products and services or other MIFC Customers or Clients. Clients are prohibited from facilitating the violation of any of this AUP or another provider’s AUP. This includes, but is not limited to, distributing, transmitting, or otherwise providing any product or service that violates this AUP or another provider’s AUP.
- Clients shall not use MIFC products and services to distribute, transmit, or store material that is inappropriate, as determined by MIFC, or material that may infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other proprietary rights of any third-party information; contain nudity, pornography or other content deemed adult related; profess hatred for particular social, ethnical, religious or other group; contain viruses.
- Clients shall not use MIFC products and services to distribute, transmit, or store material that may be harmful to, or interfere with, MIFC products and services or any third party’s systems, networks, websites, or services. Such prohibited content includes, but is not limited to worms, viruses, or Trojan horses, time bombs, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the operation of a computer or a person’s property.
- Clients shall not use MIFC products and services to distribute, transmit, or store material containing fraudulent offers for products or services, or any advertising or promotional materials that contain deceptive, false, or misleading statements, representations, or claims. Clients are prohibited from submitting any false or inaccurate data on any order form, contract, or online application, including the fraudulent use of credit cards.
EMAIL AND SPAM POLICY
Clients shall not use MIFC products and services to transmit unsolicited email messages including, without limitation, unsolicited bulk email, where such emails could reasonably be expected to provoke complaints (“spam”), Spamming using third-party proxy, aggregation of proxy lists, or proxy mailing software installation. Clients are prohibited from using the services of another provider to distribute spam or to promote a site hosted on or connected to MIFC products and services, or hosting any web pages or providing any services to support “spam”. MIFC prohibits the following activities listed without limitation hereunder:
- Send email messages that are excessive.
- Send email messages intended to harass others.
- Continue to send email messages to a recipient that has indicated that he/she does not wish to receive them.
- Send email with forged TCP/IP packet header information.
- Send malicious email, including, without limitation, “mail bombing.”
- Send or receive email messages in a manner that violates the policies of any other Internet service provider.
- Use an email box exclusively for the storage space for data.
- Forging of e-mail headers (i.e. “spoofing).
ACTIONS
Clients shall not use MIFC products and services to conduct activities that may be harmful to, or interfere with, MIFC products and services or any third party’s networks, systems, services, or Web sites. Clients are prohibited from violating or attempting to violate the security of MIFC products and services, or the computers, accounts, or networks of another party. Clients are prohibited from any activity considered as attempted security violations, including, but not limited to, any form of scanning, probing, or other testing of information to gather activity. Inappropriate activity may result in civil and/or criminal liability. MIFC will investigate such activity and may involve and cooperate with law enforcement authorities.
POLICY MODIFICATIONS
MIFC reserves the right at any time to modify the policies by posting any changes to this policy on its website, at which time the modified acceptable use policies will supersede and replace the prior Acceptable Use Policies.
IN SUMMARY:
By completing a ticket purchase, you are agreeing to abide by the TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- All ferry ticket purchases are non-refundable or changeable
- Each ticket is a limited revocable license and may be nullified at the sole discretion of MIFC
- Please check the schedule information carefully before completing your purchase; ticket purchases are final and are not refundable or changeable
- There will be no refund or reschedule for any unused services
